Both Catlin Gabel’s girls and boys varsity soccer teams won their respective soccer games against the Oregon Episcopal School’s varsity teams at their Homecoming games, on Friday, Oct. 2.

For the girls, the 4-0 win was the first time that Catlin Gabel has beat OES at its own homecoming in four years.

I am still in shock,” said girls co-team captain Nora Finley ’16. “Every single person on the team was committed to winning the game and that definitely showed. I am very excited for Friday and I hope we can pull out another win,” she said, in reference to the upcoming Catlin Gabel homecoming.

The boys team, which won at the OES homecoming last year, was ecstatic as well following its 2-1 win. The goals were scored by co-team captain Diego Fernandez ’16 and Hemming Jurges ’17.

“Our boys had an outstanding performance last Friday. Incredible hustle, defensive play and passing fluidity,” said Fernandez ’16.

The Catlin Gabel homecoming games will take place on Friday, Oct. 9. The boys’ game against OES will start at 5 p.m., and the girls’ game will start at 7 p.m.
