Sports Recap 9/30-10/5

Varsity Boys: Fresh off a huge win at OES, the team took on Faith Bible this past Thursday the 2nd. Shots were many, but the team couldn’t place the ball in the net and ended with the first draw of the season. On Monday the 6th, the team will look to rebound against Westside Christian, before homecoming this Friday the 10th against OES.

Varsity Girls: Coming off a tough loss at OES homecoming, the girls used this week to show their skill. First on Tuesday the 30th at home against Rainer with a 7-1 victory, and on Thursday the 2nd with a 10-0 win at Clatskanie. This week they will play Westside Christian at home on Tuesday the 7th before their homecoming battle against OES on Friday the 10th.

Junior Varsity Boys: The squad had two road games this past week. First a match against 6A Madison and 5A Hood River. A decisive 4-2 victory over Madison provided a launching pad heading into a tough match against Hood River. A valiant fight was put forth by the team, however they could not find the back of the net and ultimately lost 3-1. The team will play twice at home first against Forest Grove and then a mega-bowl clash against rival OES.

Junior Varsity Girls: This past week included matches against 5A Liberty and 6A Oregon City. A 2-0 victory at Liberty proved the quality of the teams play. However, the team was slightly overmatched by Oregon City, falling 1-0 at home. They will play OES this coming Thursday the 7th.

Junior Varsity II Boys: The boys this past week took on a 5A Cleveland team and a 6A Clackamas team. On Monday the 29th they suffered a 8-1 loss at Cleveland and on Wednesday the 1st lost at Clackamas 4-0. They will seek improvement this Tuesday against South Salem.

Cross Country:
The team this past Thursday the 2nd, competed in the Regis meet. The boys placed atop the chart with a strong first place performance out of 27 other teams. The girls also finished with a much respectable seventh place finish. The team will be taking part in a two day meet in Seattle this upcoming weekend.


Varsity Volleyball: On Monday the 29th, the blue and white team played an away game in Clatskanie and brought their A game, winning in a definitive three set victory. However, this past Thursday the the team partook in another road game at Rainer and suffered their first loss of the season, in a three set to none defeat. They will look to recover on the road against De La Salle.

Junior Varsity Volleyball: The theme of the week for the team was winning. First on Monday the 29th with a two set to none victory at Clatskanie and on Thursday the 2nd with another two set victory in Rainer. Next up is a game against De La Salle, to continue to defend the strong Catlin squad.
