Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I thought it was jet fuel, but it turned out to be a candy (poison) called Smoothie Fizz.

Short term: Pulitzer. Long term: Systematic propaganda production.

Terrance

What is your position on the CatlinSpeak staff?
I write the deep, extensive articles that you should probably read. No fun for Terrance Sun.

What is one interesting fact or story about you?
There’s an art form I practice. I’m positive I invented it. I’ve been working on this stuff since I was probably five years old, and it’s my number one hobby. It involves a high level of manual dexterity, spatial vision, and lots and lots of a certain everyday material we use. I’m not making any of this up. What is it? Well, if I told you, it wouldn’t be interesting anymore, would it?

Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I was quarantined in a hotel in China back in ’08 because someone in my travel group caught swine flu. The real thing I learned from that was that some people can make some really spicy food. Imagine the spiciest food you’ve ever eaten. Now double that. Your tongue is on fire, and your drinking water has turned to gasoline. Three meals a day, every day for two weeks. After that experience, I am confident that with enough spice, anything in the world is possible.

What are your hopes for CatlinSpeak?
I hope at least one person will wake up one day, and the first thing they’ll do is go online to check the new edition of CatlinSpeak. I will be a very happy young man if that happens. You now know what to do.

Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Some things are just not meant to be fried…jello is one of those things.

What are your hopes for CatlinSpeak?
I hope that CatlinSpeak can become more of a news site, and less of a school newspaper. The more frequent the content, the better.

What is one interesting fact or story about you?
Except for the past two years and the summer after seventh grade, I’ve spent about two months each summer visiting my family (everyone except my mom and dad) overseas in Bulgaria.

Oh also, I like to build robots. And talk about them. A lot. Fair warning.

Weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Honestly, a few times in third grade I asked a bunch of my friends for little bits of what they were eating for lunch, and then I would put about fifteen different things in the sandwich my mom had already made: e.g. turkey cinnamon roll Dorito carrot lettuce fish stick tomato pretzel cheese sandwich, anyone…?

I’m over that now. (I still might take you food, but just to eat it.)

What are your hopes for CatlinSpeak?
More science! I’m all for the fantastic sports, art, politics, local and global events coverage, but let’s not forget science and technology. Also, I’m looking forward to CatlinSpeak becoming a much more multimedia production, in addition to the print, photos, and vlogs we have. Interactive animations? Flash games? There’s little you can’t do on the internet.
