Each game day, more than 20,000 fans come and support each NBA game. It does not matter if the team is the best in their league, or one with no chance of even making the playoffs. Fans love supporting their NBA teams, and it is common knowledge that the home team at a game gives the players an advantage. Playing on their own court, without jetlag from travel, but most importantly, they have thousands of fans to support them.
Of course 20,000 people do not come and support the Catlin Gabel Eagles when they are playing a game, but they do sometimes have enough fans to fill up the gym.
Vikram Nallakrishnan ’17 comments, “Having fans helps a ton if we are down or the game is close. If we get a stop on defense it is really helpful to have the crowd get super exited. It for sure has a effect on the other team and gets into their head. It really just makes it harder for them to focus on the game.”
Owen Hoke ’16 also commented, “Fans supporting the team is a great way to keep the energy up on the court. It motivates us to work our hardest.”
Come support the Catlin Gabel Eagles at their next home game.
